Darkness And Light 5 - - The Truth Revealed canvas print by Susan Schanerman. Bring your artwork to life with the texture and depth of a stretched canvas print. Your image gets printed onto one of our premium canvases and then stretched on a wooden frame of 1.5" x 1.5" stretcher bars (gallery wrap) or 5/8" x 5/8" stretcher bars (museum wrap). “In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.” - - Francis Bacon
The emergence of “Darkness And Light 5” carries with it an interesting story and an inescapable truth.
It had a rocky start on a 9” x 6” page. The image was a complete shamble. In lieu of trashing the entire thing, I cut away the worst part, leaving me with an odd 5-sided shape.
Now what? I glued that shape on to an 11” x 14” sheet of Yupo paper, not realizing that Yupo was not especially amenable to my acrylic ink pens. Smears, smudges and multiple mess-ups later, “Darkness And Light 5” finally revealed itself as a unique and beautiful abstract design . . .
an ever-present reminder that there are never any mistakes when it comes to art . . . and an example that as long as I keep going with the Creative Flow that guides me, I will always end up with my own kind of masterpiece.
