After a visiting the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge the other day, I was overcome by the absolute peace and serenity . . . the complete and total silence of the area. It was a moving and memorable experience.
Later that same day, in the early evening, I was on my way home, heading west and was overwhelmed by the sight in front of my eyes. The sky was the most amazing palette of vibrant colors I think I had ever seen . . . oranges, yellow, pinks, purple . . . and a huge circle of a sun was reaching for the horizon.
I was compelled to try and capture these two very different scenes I had experienced that day . . . but in combination. So here's my version of a canal covered with lily pads and surrounded by tall grasses . . set against a glorious Florida sunset.
